Because of the Distillers Condensed Solubles(DCS) in the liquid, the residual can last more than one storm.

DCS is the waste stream from the distilling industry, more specifically Vodka or Rum. The DCS is a slurry of complex sugars and low molecular weight carbohydrates. The manufacturers of IBG Magic searches for the DCS all over the world to secure the best quality they can find. The DCS we use has a natural corrosion inhibiting property. There are no chemical corrosion inhibitors added to Ice B Gone Magic product which is unusual. The other half of the product is Magnesium Chloride.
